DAILY SOUND STAFF REPORT
A wildland fire broke out in the area of Gaviota near Mariposa Reina around 8 last night. The fire jumped from the north side of Highway 101 to the south (beach) side. As of press time Highway 101 was closed in both directions to all traffic. Southbound traffic is being turned around at Hwy 1 (north of the Gaviota Tunnel) and northbound traffic must now take State Route 154. Call (805) 967-1234 for updates.
