A gift of 10 Taser guns and related accessories will be presented to the Santa Barbara Police Department at tomorrow’s City Council meeting.
Dr. Donald Dawes, a reserve police officer in Santa Barbara and a consultant for Taser International, is donating the equipment, valued at just over $9,000. The police department currently has 145 Tasers and the additional equipment will allow them to continue to issue Tasers to sworn personnel, including volunteer reserve officers.
