An overturned vehicle on Highway 101 at Dos Pueblos Canyon Road closed down both southbound lanes and backed up traffic heading into Goleta and Santa Barbara this afternoon, fire officials said.
“This was a pickup truck hauling a dune buggy and a car carrier, heading southbound, lost control and overturned, causing the vehicle to block both lanes,” County Fire Capt. Eli Iskow said.
Despite early reports of a single injury, Capt. Iskow said no one was injured in the crash, which occurred at 3:35 p.m. However, the incident delayed two ambulances with patients heading southbound until firefighters assisted in blocking northbound lanes to allow them to bypass the closure.
California Highway Patrol officers rerouted traffic as they cleared the scene, reopening both lanes at 4:53 p.m., CHP officials said.
