A vehicle versus pedestrian collision in the northbound lanes of Highway 101 last night at 7:50 killed one man and left authorities searching for any vehicles that may have been involved.
Don Clotworthy, a spokesman for the Highway Patrol, said the incident is being considered a felony hit-and-run.

The incident occurred between the La Cumbre Road overpass and the Highway 154 overpass. At 10:30 p.m., police radio traffic indicated two northbound lanes remained closed in order for authorities to conduct their investigation and wash the freeway down.
One official on the radio said 100 yards of the freeway would need to be washed.
“Motorists who were traveling along northbound US 101 through this area at the time of the collision and have any information regarding this collision, or discover damage to the front of their vehicles are asked to contact the CHP,” Clotworthy said.
Clotworthy said anyone with information about the incident should call 477-4174.
