A string of vehicle versus pedestrian accidents in Santa Barbara continued last night, when Santa Barbara Police say a woman walking on the 700 block of Cliff Drive was struck by a person police say could have been intoxicated.
Sgt. Dan McGrew said the victim appeared to be in critical condition before being transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
McGrew said he did not know if the driver of the vehicle was male or a female.
Last Sunday a family of three was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Carrillo and State Streets.
The victims in Sunday’s accident were 54-year-old Estelle Ashkenazi and her two sons, Janone, 18, and Ilan, 14. Police said Ilan was in extremely critical condition in Cottage Hospital's Intensive Care Unit Wednesday with a severe head injury, while the mother’s condition was upgraded to good. Janone had already been released from the hospital at that time.
On Monday night, a 23-year-old woman was struck on her bicycle at the intersection of Los Olivos and Chapala Streets. The woman was transported to Cottage Hospital, but did not receive fatal wounds as a result of the collision.

You guys got it wrong again. The third such incident happened on Thursday at the intersection of State and Calle Palo Colorado in where a Jeep driven by a woman hit a guy on a bike crossing the crosswalk. Try and be factual...please.
Well there sure are too many students coming to this town, SBCC and the University are cramming the infrastructure for pure greed. The result will be more of this, a city over-populated with 18 yearolds that dont any better.
I know that the 700 block of Cliff drive should not allow for pedestrians, young drivers always hit the wall and bounce all over that steep curvy road and sidewalk.
