A single engine Cessna airplane skidded off of a runway at the Santa Barbara Airport yesterday after its rear landing gear failed while the plane was attempting to land, an airport official said.
The plane was carrying two people and neither were injured as a result of the crash, said Tracy Lincoln, the airport’s operations manager.
Lincoln said the plane is based out of Chino, Calif., but did not know what airport it took off from before the crash.
“It appears that one of the gears folded up on landing,” Lincoln said. “It skidded to a stop in the infield adjacent to the runway.”
He said the damage to the Cessna 210 did not appear to be serious.
Lincoln said the crash occurred at 1:35 p.m.

"Crash?" You news people do and write the funniest things to get peoples attention. A bent up main gear and you guys label it a crash..Amazing..No wonder there is fear of flying. You guys perpetuate it!
