Violent sex offender to return to SB

A 45-year-old sexually violent predator is set to be released from the Atascadero State Mental Hospital and for the first time since being incarcerated a decade ago, will make his first home somewhere in Santa Barbara County, a spokesman for the County Sheriff’s Department said yesterday.
Sgt. Erik Raney said he does not yet know the exact location where Kenneth Rasmuson, who was first convicted of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old boy in 1981 and was again convicted in 1987 for kidnapping and lewd and lascivious acts on a three-year-old child, will reside.
