Nearly two weeks after Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s detectives arrested 28-year-old Al Stein for suspicion of committing lewd acts with a 14-year-old Boy Scout at a Christmas tree lot, a 12-year-old boy has stepped forward and made similar accusations.

“Since the initial media coverage of the allegations of inappropriate conduct by Al Stein, a second victim has come forward,” said Sgt. Alex Tipolt, a spokesman for the sheriff’s department.
Tipolt said the boy is a former Troop 36 Boy Scout, who said the incident with Stein occurred during a Boy Scout function earlier this year in Goleta.
The first incident allegedly occurred while Stein, a volunteer with Troop 36, was working with boy scouts at a Christmas tee lot at 5875 Calle Real. Tipolt said authorities became aware of the first incident on Dec. 4.
Stein, who was arrested on Dec. 5 and has been held in Santa Barbara County Jail on $100,000 bail, is expected to be arraigned in Superior Court on Jan. 7.
Tipolt said anyone with more information about Stein can contact detectives at 681-4150.
