Daily Sound Obituaries

Samuel “Carl” Ansorge, passed away peacefully November 27, 2007 at Buena Vista. Carl was born March 9, 1922 to Elsie Gunther and Samuel Carl Ansorge in St. Paul, MN. At the age of 6 years old, his family moved to California, where Carl attended schools in San Marino and later U.S.C.

Upon coming to Santa Barbara, Carl was employed at San Roque Church. Carl was a very intelligent man, interested in electronics, astronomy, psychiatry, and was an avid reader. He was a Ham Radio operator. Being a very religious man, Carl was devoted to Our Lord and the Blessed Mother, and was a member of the Serra Club. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Bernice Morin.
Carl is survived by his caring friends, Art and Barbara Najera and their family. A rosary will be held Monday, December 3 at 9:30am, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church.

J.P.
Unzueta, was born in Santa Barbara on September 29, 1962 and passed away in Santa Ynez on November 30, 2007.
J.P. is preceded in death by his mother Rita Provencio Greenwald and his father Simon Reyes Unzueta.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Marie Thiessen, Gilbert Greenwald, Peggy Hernandez, Doris Barragon, Marian Taylor, Ernie Greenwald, Mark A. Rodriguez, Frank Unzueta, Simonette Guevara, and by his children, Aileena Diaz, Bryan Unzueta, Amanda Unzueta, Denecia Unzueta, Jimmy Unzueta, Clinton Unzueta, Christopher Unzueta, his grand daughter Ashlynn Diaz and Romero Family, and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
J.P. attended Santa Ynez High School and was a wrangler for the Rancho Vistadores for 20+ years. J.P. was excellent at all trades, (welder, masonry, carpentry, and fencing). He was a part of The Chumash Dolphin Dancers and the Mishtoyo Dancers and California Bear Dancers for 31 years.
A viewing will be held at 153 Kalawa Shaq on the Lower Reservation on Thursday 12/06/2007 at 6:00pm. A Graveside service with Native Ceremony will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Ballard on Friday 12/07/2007 at 11am.
