Authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying a burglar who broke into a local liquor store earlier this month.
Police arrived at Santa Barbara Liquor, 1015 De la Vina St., just after midnight on February 4 after receiving reports of the store’s audible alarm ringing, Sgt. Lorenzo Duarte said. Upon arrival, officers saw the front window had been smashed and numerous DVDs had been stolen.

Video surveillance footage shows a man glancing into the window and loitering around the store front for about half a minute before attempting to smash in the front door with a large rock. After several unsuccessful attempts, he heaves the rock through the front window and climbs through the shattered glass.
Police released video footage and photographs in hopes that someone will be able to identify the burglar. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Det. Bryan Jensen at 897-2331 or at the police station at 215 E. Figueroa St. in Santa Barbara.
