Jacob Ranger, a standout basketball star at Carpinteria High School, was nominated yesterday to the 2008 McDonald’s All American High School Boys Basketball Team.
Ranger was selected by a group of 32 basketball experts that includes coaches and top high school sports journalists, a statement released by McDonalds said.

The 6-foot, 5-inch Ranger, who averages 26.8 points, 11 rebounds and four assists per game, is one of 1,500 nominees who will compete for a spot on a 24-man roster that will compete in an East versus West match-up on March 26 in Milwaukee, WI.
Ranger is the son of Tim and Bev Ranger and recently signed a letter of intent to play for UC Davis next year. According to the statement, Ranger is the only student from Carpinteria High School to have signed with an NCAA Division I school.
