Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man at a Montecito resort Sunday after witnesses reportedly saw him carrying a gun, authorities said.
Security officers at the Four Seasons Resort, The Biltmore called authorities to report a possibly intoxicated suspect walking around with a firearm, Sheriff’s Sgt. Alex Tipolt said. Upon arrival, deputies saw the man throw the gun into nearby bushes, he said.

After authorities subdued the man and took him into custody, Sgt. Tipolt said he appeared to be distraught over domestic issues. Deputies booked him into County Jail. No further information about the man’s identity or age, or the time of the incident, was immediately available.
An anonymous caller told the Daily Sound the man had entered the hotel lounge and sat down with a gun tucked into his waistband. After several hotel guests noticed and told the bartender, the suspect realized he was drawing attention and left the building, the anonymous caller said.
Witnesses reportedly saw the man throw the gun into the bushes and stood nearby until Sheriff’s deputies arrived and used a Taser to subdue him, the caller said.
