Santa Barbara Police detectives arrested an 18-year-old man suspected of stabbing another man Sunday evening in the courtyard of the Guest House Inn at 3344 State St.
Authorities took the suspect, Pablo Lopez, into custody at 9 a.m. at his place of work. Lopez was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, active participation in a criminal street gang and intimidating a witness.

The assault occurred just after 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Surveillance video from the hotel shows three men chase down the 18-year-old victim, push him into a planter and unleash a vicious attack. While one suspect stabs the victim, the other two men punch and kick.
The victim manages to get up, bleeding profusely from a wound on his arm, which a hotel employee said sprayed blood on the walls of the hotel lobby. The victim’s face was also cut.
The hotel employee said the gash was several inches long and the victim’s upper lip was split in two.
Sgt. Lorenzo Duarte said the case remains under investigation and anyone with information is urged to call police at 897-2300.
