The Santa Barbara High School girl’s golf team kept a zero in the loss column yesterday after beating Thousand Oaks 247-277 in dual meet at the Santa Barbara Golf Club.
It was Santa Barbara’s second victory over Thousand Oaks, who lost to the Dons earlier this season 264-259 at home.
“It was a pretty competitive match,” said Dons’ Head Coach Ryan Throop. “We only won by five strokes.”

Throop called yesterday’s 30-stroke victory a “convincing win.”
As his team teed off on the first hole, Throop, who’s starting his fifth at the helm of the program, said this year’s goal is to qualify for the CIF Playoffs and finish higher in the four-team-strong Channel League, where they ended up third last year.
Leading the way yesterday for the 3-0 Dons was freshman medalist Olivia Fanaro with a 47 and sophomore Lexi Ortega, who also shot a 47 over the nine-hole course.
Other medalists included sophomores Kylie Wagner, 49, Haley True, 52 and Sarah Kirkwood, 53.
Throop said Dos Pueblos appears to be the team to beat so far. He said his squad’s immediate goal is toe beat San Marcos.
For now, Throop said the important thing is his team enjoys what they’re doing and they strive to improve each day.
“The girls just want to improve and get better,” he said.
Thousand Oaks' record is now 1-2.
