County declares State of Emergency

As a result of the Gap Fire the Board of Supervisors declared a Local State of Emergency last night, (Wednesday July 2, 2008 at 9:55 PM. The BOS will meet at 11:30 AM today in the County Administration Building in Santa Barbara (with teleconferencing available from the Betteravia Government Center in Santa Maria) to adopt a resolution ratifying the declaration and to receive an update on the GAP Fire and related issues.

HERE (674k) is the Board of Supervisors Agenda for the Emergency Meeting, the Resolution ratifying the Proclamation of Local Emergency as well as a copy of the News Release from the County Emergency Operations Center from 11:30 PM Wednesday, July 2, 2008 and a copy of the Proclamation of Local Emergency by Acting Director of Emergency Services Requesting Governor to Proclaim a State of Emergency.
